How many issues should you tackle each week?
Maximizing Your Level 10 Meeting™: Focus on Impact, Not Quantity
In the world of EOS®, the Level 10 Meeting™ is a cornerstone for driving progress and alignment within leadership teams. One of the most critical components of this meeting is the IDS (Identify, Discuss, Solve) session, where issues are tackled head-on. But how many issues should you aim to solve during this time? The answer might surprise you.
Quality Over Quantity
There is no magic number of issues to solve in your Level 10 Meeting™. Some of the most impactful meetings focus on a single, significant issue for the entire 60 minutes. Other times, you might address up to ten issues. The key is not to rush through your list but to focus on the most pressing matters that will propel your business forward in the next week.
Prioritizing the Top Three
When selecting issues to tackle, consider what will have the most impact on your organization over the next seven days. Use the EOS® model to determine whether the issue is related to process, data, people, or vision. Once identified, delve into the root cause and establish actionable to-dos that can be accomplished before your next meeting.
Effective Issue Solving
After addressing your top three issues, if time permits, you can vote on additional issues. However, ensure you have more than five minutes remaining to conclude your meeting effectively. Remember, the goal is to solve issues for the greater good, not to clear your list.
Conclusion
Slowing down to thoroughly understand and address the root causes of issues will lead to more meaningful progress. If you need further assistance or want to enhance your EOS® journey, schedule a coaching session with experts who can guide you every step of the way.
